INFRASTRUCTURE

Batak municipality consists of town of Batak and two villages - Nova Mahala and Fotinovo. This is the largest municipality of Pazardjik district. 

ROAD NETWORK

Batak municipality has well constructed road network. The roads connect the the town and the villages. 

Its area is the following:

• Batak – 225.295 ha

• Nova Mahala – 8.295 ha

• Fotinovo – 11.714 ha

The transport infrastructure of Batak and of the Batak Dam resort is connected with Trakia international highway and is 6 km away from it. The main road corridors lying through Batak are:

• ІІ–37 – road Plovdiv - Peshtera – Batak - Dospat – Gotze Delchev

• ІІ class – Batak - Velingrad – 20 km

• ІІ class – Batak - Peshtera – 15 km

• ІІ class – Batak – Nova Mahala – 7 km

• ІV class – Ravnogor - Fotinovo – 8 km

• ІV class – Batak - Danoto – 12 km

Water Supply and Sewerege

Water supply network of Batak municipality is 90 km, 70 km external and 20 km of it is in the town/villages.
The whole water supply network is made of asbestos cement pipes and they are worn out already. This leads to the loss and low quality of the water. Ozonia Water Purifying Station was designed especially for water purifying using a special  ozone method and in conformity with BDS (Bulgarian State Standards); its capacity is 20l/sec but it is not in operation at the moment.  
In case of lack of drinking water the necessary water is secured for Batak from Batak - Peshtera water supply group. The cost of the water in Batak is 0.30 BGL/m3.

Long Distance Communications

The capacity of Batak ATC  is 2000 telephone posts, 1600 of them are in operation. The capacity of Nova Mahala ATC is not enough – only 200 posts and there are about 200 applications for telephone posts.
Fotinovo ATC will be cabled and extended. The need for telephone posts here is 95% satisfied

Power Supply

The power supply network is in good condition. The municipality is 100% power supplied. The dam lakes Batak, Beglika and Shiroka Polyana are used for the water power plants.
